Pierced Ears

Yesterday Harleigh decided that she wanted to get her ears pierced. She has been debating this for the past year and was VERY nervous about it. She always said that she would go when her Dad could hold her hands, because "he holds my hands better than you Mom".

Thursday night she started talking about it and yesterday she came out all ready to go and said "today, I'm getting my ears pierced". I was a little surprised because Todd was out of town in Boise with Brodie to a CAP encampment. I figured if she was that determined, because when Harleigh sets her minds to something she is DETERMINED, that we better go.

The two of us went to Idaho Falls to Claires and got her ears pierced.

Here she is in the chair, a little nervous.
The lady marking where they would pierce, a lot more nervous!!
And after they were finished. She was a little teary eyed but then kept saying "I can't believe I finally got my ears pierced!"

And, of course, they are pink flowers, her favorite color.

We made it a great day for the two of us. I've never had a pedicure done and everyone tells me it will help with my cracked heals so I decided to splurge for one. Harleigh got her toenails and fingernails painted and then we finished the day with lunch. Harleigh told me it was a "great girls day, with no boys".

Let the Memories Begin!

Finally, four long weeks and a lot of stress later, my parents were able to get their new trailer. It has been a stressful ordeal for them. They have been busy with cleaning up everything that was in the trailer, doctor visits for Dad, and tons and tons of faxes and phone calls with insurance adjusters and Bischs but finally they were able to get a new camper just like their old "new" camper, but without the sun roof.

Everything was the same, with the exception of the fridge. Bischs kept it on the lot for three days just to make sure that everything was working. When Mom and Dad went to hook the trailer up to go camping the signals didn't work. It ended up just being a fuse but by then the rain was pouring yesterday so they didn't go. This morning when they went to leave, again the signals didn't work but it was a bulb. I'm hoping that this isn't a sign.

This fridge looks much better than the last one, so do the table and microwave.

Bischs threw in a new flat screen television for Mom and Dad

For Father's Day we gave Dad a small bear dressed up like a fireman with his hose and hammer. Jayce wrote "Island Park Fire Department" on the front of the bear. We're hoping he can bring them good luck. Although they haven't actually put him in the trailer yet, maybe that would have helped with the signals??? Dad asked where he should put him in the trailer. I told him the fridge, of course!

I don't know about you but I think this trailer looks a lot smaller, the sun roof that the fire department put in the other trailer really opened things up.

Good luck Mom and Dad we hope you are able to enjoy this camper for many years to come!

Oh What Do You Do In The Summertime...

Oh what do you do in the Summertime
When all it does is rain?
Do you go to the movie
Play on the Wii
Or spend the day at Leos

So do we!

Oh what do you do in the Summertime

When the clouds hide for an hour or two

Do you go to the rodeo

And cheer for Ashlie

As she goes around barrels of three

So do we!

Oh what do you do in the Summertime

When the rain goes away

Do you go to the Splash Park

Jump on the Trampoline

Or play at Smith Park

So do we!

Oh what do you do in the Summertime

When you spend time with Grandpa and Grandma

Do you ride in the car

See buffalo from afar

Or watch Old Faithful go off

So do we!

Oh what do you do in the Summertime
When the rain comes back again?
Do you go shopping and out to lunch
Buy matching dresses
And take pictures of you three

So did we!

My brother Todd's girls have been here from California this past week! The weather hasn't been very cooperative for us to do a lot, but we tried to fit in as much as we could with the rain! Rain for a few days isn't too bad, but weeks, BLUGH!!!

Rain, Rain Go Away....

Is anyone else feeling this way?
I think my blogging brain is all wet too because I just can't even think of anything to blog about. The weather reports say: overcast, scattered showers, showers, thunderstorms and cloudy skies. There is a little sun behind a cloud for Friday, so maybe, just maybe some sun and warmth will stimulate my brain. My luck though the sun will be out all day and then rain when I get off work! Rain, Rain, Go Away...

The Two Front Teeth

While the girls were taking swimming lessons my niece Brentlie's permanent teeth were coming in so my sister-in-law Kim had to have the dentist pull her two front baby teeth because they weren't about ready to budge for the permanent teeth to come through. That night at swimming lessons I told Brentlie I needed a picture of the first teeth that she lost. This is what I got...

Do you think she is tired of her Aunt Colette taking pictures?

Maids

The other day I was at work and Harleigh called me. I could tell that she was really excited about something. She proceeded to tell me "Mom, www.maids.com". At first I couldn't understand what she was saying and thought that she had seen a new website on a commercial like barbies.com or something but she just keep saying "Mom, www.maids.com, check it out right now Mom". My Mom got on the phone and told me what it was. Mom said that Harleigh came running in and told her she had to let me know how we could get a maid in our house. That is kind of my joke around the house when things are WAY behind "why didn't that maid show up", or "we're going to have to get a new maid". So there you go, Harleigh found the solution for me. When my Mom told her that was what Harleigh, Jayce, and Brodie were for, Harleigh didn't like that answer.

Schools Out...

School has been out for an entire week and I feel like the past week has flown by...I hope that is not a sign of how fast the kids' Summer break is going to go.

Jayce put his OLD Winnie the Pooh backpack on a few nights before school was going to be out. I told him I would give him $5.00 if he would wear it to school the next day, which, of course, he took the challenge. Only the next day I noticed he had it hidden in his regular backpack but he did wear it in to show the ladies in the office at school.

Here are his pictures with Winnie the Pooh backpack riding Harleigh's Princess scooter. Brodie just shook his head and said "he is NOT my brother!" Jayce definitely keeps us laughing.
And while Jayce was out riding Harleigh's scooter, she was finishing her homework. Neither of the boys had homework the last week of school, but Harleigh did. Actually of the three she has had the most homework this year.
I had to stop into her class the last day of school and get a picture of her and her teacher, Mrs. Ricks. Harleigh has LOVED having her for a teacher and already has told me several times how much she is going to miss her.
Last Saturday after I finished, or decided it was time for a break, I took Harleigh to the Spray Park with my sister-in-law, Kim, and niece, Brentlie. The sun was out and it was SO nice!
Harleigh was waiting for the big bucket to drop.
They also rode on the carousel.

And since the trip to the Spray Park the rest of the week has FLOWN by and seems like a BLUR, we'll try to do better this week and catch some of our activities for the blog.
