Sorry for all of the posts below but we have been BUSY! Since this is my form of a journal any more I wanted to capture the past week. HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

If You Go Out On Halloween Night...

If you go out on Halloween Night beware of the branches at Beth's. Our neighbor trimmed her trees last Saturday and has been waiting for the trimmer to come back and finish the job. She has a pile of tree limbs and branches in her yard. It kind of looks like a spooky path on Halloween night the kids and I decided. Beth thought maybe she should have made it into a maze. Jayce thinks it would be a great place to hide and scare kids on Halloween as they go trick or treating. So if you go out on Halloween night...

Carving Pumpkins

Monday night we went up to Kim and Smokey's to carve pumpkins. We had a lot of fun. We ate chili and had hot chocolate and pumpkin pie. It was yummy. We carved the pumpkins in their garage which was a good thing because Kim kind of started a pumpkin war. It was actually pretty fun. GROSS, BUT FUN! Here are some pictures from the night! After we finished carving pumpkins and throwing seeds and pumpkin guts around...here are the finished Jack-O-Lanterns!!

Dress Up for Dance

Harleigh wore her Genie costume to dance on Tuesday. Here is a picture of all the dancers aka princesses, cheerleaders, devils, gypsies, milk cartons, and witches in her class.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

This past weekend was my babysitter's birthday. HAPPY BE-LATED BIRTHDAY Sheila. I'm hoping that Kristen and Shari will help you to read my blog.

The kids and I stopped over on Monday to take her a gift and I told her that I have never had a picture of her with all three kids so we convinced her to pose for one. I can't believe that she once held Brodie as a six week old baby. He is so tall next to Sheila now! She is the BEST she has watched my children since Brodie was six weeks old. I've taken all three of them as babies for her to take care of and she's been taking care of them ever since. She is such an IMPORTANT part of my kids life and will ALWAYS be an important part of our family. WE LOVE HER!! Even now my kids love to go to Sheila's house, although Harleigh is actually the only one who still goes. Jayce likes to spend a day or an afternoon with Sheila. Harleigh calls her "my second Mom" or "grandma, even though she's not old like grandma". Sometimes when the boys' behavior is not the best I think "they need to go see Sheila". She has been such a good friend to me and given me advice and helped me through some really tough times. She has made such a difference in my life. I don't think that I can ever thank her for all that she has done!




I found this poem and really liked it only I think that it can also say that Sheila you will be forever in our hearts.

Ashlie's Rodeo

Saturday night we went to watch my niece, Ashlie, in the District Seven Scholarship Rodeo. She did AWESOME. My pictures are not the greatest, in fact they're pretty bad, but here is a picture of her doing the barrels and poles. She took FIRST in both. GOOD JOB ASHLIE!! Her score on the barrels was 15.3 seconds and on the poles 21.6.

This will be her Senior year in High School Rodeo so we're looking forward to watching her this year. She has really worked hard and is doing so well.

Here is Harleigh's view of the rodeo. Poor Falecia, Ashlie's friend, she was so sweet to Harleigh, even though I'm sure her shoulders and back were getting tired.

They had a pig chase that night too. Brentlie headed out to try to catch the pig.
About this time someone was on the pig and it started to SQUEAL!!
And right about now is when Brentlie decides that she has had ENOUGH!!
I don't think she realized that they were chasing after a pig when she headed out there!

Princesses & Wildcats

Saturday was a busy and fun day. I took Harleigh and Brentlie to Princess Days at the Paul Mitchell Hair Academy.
They really were treated like princesses. They did their hair.


Then they did their nails and their makeup.
Harleigh chose hot pink with flower designs for her nails and Brentlie wanted "rainbow nails" from the minute we walked in the door.


Then they got their picture with Cinderella and Belle (somewhat look a likes???) and I had to buy them tiaras and wands they looked so cute.

And after Princess Days I took the little princesses and we went to see High School Musical 3. The girls had been waiting for the movie and were VERY excited!!

It was a pretty good movie but there were a few parts that I just had to laugh at, they were a little bit "corny". But the girls liked it and that's all that mattered.

All in all we had a pretty fun "girls" day. I traded Smokey and Kim Brodie and Jayce for Brentlie. Brodie and Jayce went with them to Ashlie's rodeo. We all went that evening to watch Ashlie. I'll post about the rodeo later.

A Sleep Over

After Harleigh's Fall Carnival my brother-in-law, Smokey, and sister-in-law, Kim, were working in the cook shack at the High School scholarship rodeo that my niece, Ashlie, was in. Since they were going to have a late night, we asked if we could keep Brentlie for the night. Harleigh was SO excited. It was HER first sleep over at our house. Brentlie has been to our house before but NEVER for a sleep over so both of the girls were excited!

They couldn't decide on watching the High School Musical movies or Princess movies to prepare for Saturday's Princess Days and High School Musical 3. In the end Cinderella won!
And I had to send Todd on a EMERGENCY run, I was out of Diet Pepsi so he brought back every sleep over's necessity...

Yup, scratch tickets! DARN they weren't winners, but they made the girls HAPPY! But not as happy as when...
Jayce made it home from the Haunted Mill in time to give piggy bag and horse back rides!

Friday night we went to Harleigh's Fall Carnival. My sister-in-law, Kim, and niece, Brentlie, came with us. I think that the girls had a lot of fun. It was kind of nice because it wasn't as crowded as it has been in the past. The PTO had arranged for BYU-Idaho students to work at the booths so parents were able to enjoy the carnival with their children, which I enjoyed. Usually I work at a booth and Todd takes the kids around and then we meet up when I am finished but this year it was PRETTY RELAXED!!!

Let Them Know

I copied this blog entry from my niece's blog. I hope you don't mind Jodie. It was a good reminder for me. It is so hard not to focus on the things like the house and laundry. I know we need to have clean clothes, dishes, and homes but I guess it is trying to find the balance.

If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly.

Stresses in our lives come regardless of our circumstances. We must deal with them the best we can. But we should not let them get in the way of what is most important—and what is most important almost always involves the people around us. Often we assume that they must know how much we love them. So this weekend I'm going to try not to feel guilty for enjoying some Fall fun with my children and also be more mindful of my family and friends.

Princess Days

I saw this flyer for Princess Days at Paul Mitchell Hair Academy this weekend. It looks like fun. It is Saturday October 25 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Paul Mitchell Hair Academy. Up-Do, nails, and makeup is $9.00 for the package and $4.00 for individual service. So for all those princesses, this sounds like a fun thing.

And of course my little princess keeps reminding me that on Friday, October 24, this movie comes out...

Not to mention the Adams Fall Carnival is Friday too along with lots of fun straw mazes and pumpkin patches I want to go to. Guess that laundry and house cleaning will have to wait!!

Our Week!

Our week started out with me home from work with an Inner Ear Infection. I get those periodically and they usually put me down for a couple of days because I am dizzy and a little on the nauseous side. I was really hoping for some quiet at home but they were finishing the road in front of our house. Instead of quiet there was a rattling, thumping sound in the house. It was GREAT!!! NOT!! The photograph does not do justice to how much noise those rollers can actually make. I thought my china was going to break!
On Tuesday night we bundled up for Jayce's football game. It was a little cold that night. It was a really good game though, the winner went to the championship game. We lost by a touch down so we are now finished with football for the year. I actually got Jayce to pose for a close up. Too bad I had him smiling into the sun though, but I had to take it quick because "hurry and take it Mom before all the guys come".

The kids went back to school from the spud harvest break on Thursday. I had to keep reminding Jayce and Harleigh that they had to be in bed early Wednesday night. They both had gotten used to staying up late and had gotten out of the bedtime routine. Todd and Brodie were up helping in harvest so they didn't get home until late.

Thursday afternoon, right before the police department's group photograph, nice timing, huh, my left eye started to get red. By the time I went to bed it was red and swollen. The next day I went to the eye doctor and I had an allergy and infection. So for two weeks I get to wear my glasses and put eye drops in. At least today it is only a little red and a little sore. Jayce couldn't believe I would wear my glasses to work and my wonderful co-workers, the police officers, said they were sure it was my ear infection coming out in my eye! Aren't they great!! Too bad it wasn't pink eye and I could have given it to all of them. KIDDING!! I'll take the allergy!!

Yesterday I went up to where Todd and Brodie were helping Summers in harvest. Harleigh loves to ride with her Dad in the truck. I guess the truck is named "Rootbeer Float". She hadn't seen him much that week so it was good for her to go for a ride with her Dad.

I also tried to get a couple of pictures of Brodie working in the pit. Now when I asked for a smile. At least the girls were willing to cooperate.

Brodie told me taking pictures during harvest is just crazy, then he finished by telling me "Gee Mom, I didn't even do my hair". SMART ALLECK!! I think he might have been teasing the girls. But finally he did give me a pose.

I think actually he is thinking "if I just look at her, she'll leave".

They finished early this morning so Todd and Brodie have been doing some serious napping today! It has been nice to have them closer to home this year while they have been working in harvest.

I hope this weeks starts off with no more eye or ear infections and the kids get back into the routine of things with school!
